In September 2025 I had the pleasure of conducting my ekphrastic poetry workshop at the Sixteenth Annual Conference of the Image hosted at the Sorbonne, Paris. I met an international audience and presented poetry, writing prompts, and art to inspire original poems by workshop participants. People responded, in particular, to three of the artists I presented—Sheffield van Buren, Ann Phelan, and France Hilbert—, each with their own unique style. Living at the dawning of the age of AI, the synchronicity of image and words has never been more relevant.
